THE SCARLETS may be flying high in the Guinness Pro12 but centre Adam Warren has no regrets about making the move east to Newport Gwent Dragons.

The 24-year-old turned down a fresh contract offer at the end of last season to head to Rodney Parade with the intention of making a fresh start.

Warren, capped once against the Barbarians in 2012, played 67 times for the Scarlets over four seasons and frequently found himself merely filling in for likes of Jonathan Davies, Scott Williams and Regan King.

This season may not have gone to plan for the Dragons, who have suffered away losses to Connacht and Leinster and 'enjoyed' a 13-0 win against Zebre, but their new centre has played every minute and already featured in the starting XV more times than he did in 2014/15.

His old team is leading the way in the Pro12 with three wins from three yet Warren is also happy with how things are panning out in the east.

"I am enjoying playing so much and when the results and performances turn I will enjoy it even more," said Warren, a Wales sevens international who can play 12, 13 and on the wing.

"I am trying to create a good impression at the Dragons and sometimes when results aren't going your way you can feel that you aren't doing enough.

"But my aim was to move to a new environment and to push for a starting place, which I've done. I feel I am improving here and want to try and put as much input into the team as I can.

"Things will turn for us soon and then I can start putting myself into the game plan even more."

Warren is confident that the Dragons will hit their straps when they return from another weekend off to face champions Glasgow.

The clash at Scotstoun is the first of 16 consecutive weeks of action, contrasting with the fractured schedule of the league so far because of the World Cup.

"Leinster was a very frustrating game, we made lots of handling errors and got turned over quite a bit and then our defence was in chaos off that," he said.

"It's tough having another break now and it will be nice to build week to week and have the chance to get better with every performance."
