A TEN-year-old girl has raised more than £1,000 for Cancer Research UK by getting her mop chopped for the Little Princess Trust.

Kaisha Lewis, of Crumlin, got 10 inches of her hair cut off for The Little Princess Trust and raised money for Cancer Research at Crumlin Rugby Club last week.

She decided to raise the money as her great-grandfather Ken Shallish will finish the last of his chemotherapy this year after having stomach cancer for 10 years.

Her mother Rachel Goodway, 32, said she is extremely proud of Kaisha for getting her hair cut.

She said: “The atmosphere was fab, everyone was cheering her along.

“She was a little star and I am so proud of her. Her hair really suits her and looks stunning.”

Kaisha’s hair was plaited before her cut and she sat on stage in front of friends and family.

“The money that has been raised is brilliant for such a worthy cause and I am sure the hair donated will be very useful and make a fantastic wig," she added.
